Framing is nearly done!

Karin just sent these pix from NM. The framing is almost completed. Rough in of plumbing and electrical starts now. I love how the passive cooling towers framed up! No air conditioning in this house. The cooling towers will have an operable window on the leeward side so that when the prevailing western winds are blowing, we open the window and it sucks out the hot air! Love it!

Day 9 framing

We are just loving the design our architect created for our house! When I've shown this photo to people, many comment on how blue, blue, blue the sky is! Funny how that blue sky just lifts my spirits. :)

Shade structure extends living space nicely!
And here are a couple of shots of our little temporary home. It's amazing how comfortable 8 X 19 feet can be! But with the outside shade structure, it does extend our living space a bit.  For those of you who may be future visitors of Casa de KP3, Stella is the guest house. :)

Framing progresses quickly!

No squinting required now! It's really starting to look house-like. Below are some photos that show the first floor framing nearly done, then moving to second floor adding some rafters, a view of what will be the floor of the second floor and finally views from the second floor (the stairs are in) of the alfalfa field next door and the Sandia Mountains beyond. This was all done in 5 days!! Amazing.
